Opinion | Park Lane sidewalks need more work

The 3,000 square feet of Terrewalk rubber sidewalks installed on Park Lane over the past few weeks look to be an improvement over the rickety and uneven concrete sidewalks they replaced. Most of the work sidewalk replacement in Phase One of this project seem to be installed properly with one notable exception: a tree well on the north-east side of Park Lane, near Main Street. The Terrawalk panels at this location buckle at two corners of the tree well. It seems some additional work needs to be done here before it causes an injury. The purpose of the sidewalk renovation was to replace old and uneven sidewalks around large trees with a new material which allows for water to pass and roots to grow.
