The Art Shop opens April 30th in downtown Kirkland

Some local artists are helping to fill vacant retail storefronts in town with a "Pop-Up" art shop. By renting empty storefronts, the artists bring life to otherwise dead zones in town. The ten-day run will host daily community events and the closing will take place after the Kirkland Art Studio Tour, May 8 and 9.

The Art Shop is a group of five artists who have banded together to rent otherwise unoccupied store fronts. We rent them for only ten days and have new community events daily. The opening party on April 30th, 5-9 is an opportunity to enjoy local catered food and local live music, while getting a first glimpse at all of the one-of-a-kind artwork. Tuesday May 4th is a Womens networking party 5-8PM. Our artists are: Justin Fischer-wood work and shrines, Pilar Loizaga-enchanting pottery, Liz Gamberg, fine rungs, ceramics and jewelry, Sue Zell-furniture and pillows, and Rebecca DeVere, oil paintings and fun gift items for mothers Day. The Art Shop has some guest artists and trunk shows daily!

The artists have some YouTube videos posted you can view at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0q5TyuSZjkw
