Seattle Times | Broker Breard pleads guilty to mail fraud in theft of $9.4 million from clients

The Seattle Times is reporting that Rhonda Breard, owner of a Kirkland-based Breard Associates and Wealth Management, has pleaded guilty to mail fraud.

Embattled Kirkland securities broker Rhonda Breard pleaded guilty Tuesday morning to mail fraud in connection with the theft of more than $9 million from her investment clients.

Breard agreed to surrender three homes and more than two dozen vehicles and boats.

The plea was expected because Breard, 47, had been scheduled for a change-of-plea hearing since last week, according to federal prosecutors. She has been cooperating with investigators since shortly after she unceremoniously shuttered her Kirkland offices in early February.
