Update from Sound Transit: Kirkland Transit Center Construction Update – March 1, 2010

Early morning work scheduled for water main tie-in On the morning of Thursday, March 4, starting at 4:00 a.m. crews will begin to tie-in a new section of the water main under 3rd Street that was recently completed.  As the new section of water main is brought into service, the tie-in will temporarily impact water service to some tenants inKirkland Square.  The work is expected to be competed by 7:00 a.m. Thursday morning and water service will be restored.  The Kirkland Public Works department is working with the contractor to identify impacted businesses in Kirkland Square and a 48 hour advance notice will be provided for temporary disruption of water service.

Work to install a new water main is being performed in cooperation with City of Kirkland in order to reduce multiple construction impacts on 3rd Street.

Remember to support local businesses near the Kirkland Transit Center site during construction.
