Statement from Rep. Larry Springer (D – Kirkland) regarding the House passage of Rep. Orwall’s Washington Works Housing Act of 2010, HB 2753
“The Washington Works Housing Act of 2010 will provide much-needed housing for working families across Washington and in the 45th District. I’m proud to co-sponsor this legislation that increases access to affordable housing. Our housing affordability crisis is not limited to low-income families and the homeless. Too many families can only find affordable housing 30, 40, 50 miles from their jobs. The transportation costs alone eat up any savings in the price of the home.”
“The Washington Works Housing Act of 2010 will not only provide more affordable housing, but it will put thousands of unemployed Washington construction workers back to work building those homes.  It’s a win for Washington.”
