Kirkland Transit Center Construction Update

A MESSAGE FROM SOUND TRANSIT Kirkland Transit Center Construction Update – January 28, 2010

Water main replacement work under 3rd Street continues on schedule This week and last week, crews are working to install new sections of the water main under 3rd Street near the Heathman Hotel and will complete the water main in this section with the installation of a new fire hydrant this week.  Water main work will continue this week on 3rd Street in the northbound direction to the crossing at Kirkland Square.  As a result, the section of sidewalk between Park Lane and Central Avenue on the east side will be closed to pedestrians for approximately three weeks.  Next week, new electrical vaults will be installed under 3rdStreet.  Also, the construction team has been working with the City on a proposal to install some temporary lighting along 3rd Street.
