Metropolitan Market’s Peach-O-Rama celebration is the unofficial indicator that peach season has arrived! The juicy, 20-year promotion, is teaming up with Chef Jason Wilson of Miller’s Guild, Coffee Flour, and the soon-to-open Lakeside and Civility & Unrest in Bellevue, to show shoppers how they can recreate peach dishes at home!
Chef Jason will bring his innovative approach and craft cooking to Metropolitan Market’s Kirkland location on Saturday July 30, 12-2 p.m. He’ll man the grill and show shoppers how to create a Grilled Summer Peach Salad with Ricotta and Prosciutto as well as Marinated Peaches, Buttermilk Quinoa Cakes & Basil Crème Fraiche, dishing samples as he goes.
Peach-O-Rama itself brings a long history, debuting in 1996 after Metropolitan Market CEO visited with chefs and farmers to bring back the best peaches, dripping with peach juice in every bite. That search resulted in the best peaches on the market, which today means local Bert Pence of Pence Orchards (they save the best specifically for Metropolitan Market) as well as Frog Hollow Organic Peaches (California).
Peaches are packaged with care to reach the stores, hand placed in single-layer, field-packed boxes. While these peaches are delicious straight from the stores, they are also diverse in dishes.
