The annual Puget Sound Duck Dash presented by Kirkland Rotary Club returns again this year to Marina Park during Kirkland Summerfest (Kirkland's largest Arts and Music festival, Aug. 12 & 13). The shoreline will be packed at 2 pm on Saturday, August 13 when the thousands of ducks race to the finish line.
Duck Dash tickets can be purchased in advance from your local friendly Rotarian. Tickets will also be sold at Summerfest under the giant inflatable duck, of course!
We received the following letter from our friend, Bill Woods, further explaining the benefits of the Duck Dash:
I did want people to again know that the Kirkland Rotary Duck Dash will happen again this year at Summerfest, August 13th. Both Rotary and Kiwanis each year raise money to give back to the city in many ways. The Rotary Duck Dash is in its 16th year and has raised over a million dollars, all of which has gone back to the community in many ways. For example, each year we give $16,000.00 in scholarships to students from the Greater Kirkland schools, also we have contributed to the Kirkland Park Dept. over $100,000.00.
Another special project is the Warm Coat project in which we pass out over 100 winter coats to needy kids each year, in addition, we provide Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets to needy family's each year.
So, when you see a Rotarian selling Duck Adoption tickets, please consider helping.
In our book, Bill's support is the gold standard. When Bill supports a cause, we know that cause is worthy of our support. The Rotary Club, and the Kiwanis Club, as Bill has noted, benefit our community is so many ways. As an added bonus, Duck Dash tickets include discounts from local businesses!
Don't miss the Duck Dash. It's a hoot, er, a quack. Buy your tickets today from your friendly local Rotarian.
We'll see you there!
