According to a source familiar with the situation, the City Manager has chosen a new Parks and Community Services Director for the City of Kirkland. Lynn Zwaagstra will likely join Kirkland May 23 but will be coming to town sometime in April to meet with Parks and Community Services, key staff and Councilmembers.
Lynn has extensive training in transformational leadership, change management, financial management, marketing, tourism development and much more. She has built large facilities such as a tubing hill and terrain park in Colorado and implemented innovative new programs to increase public participation and park revenues in each of her jobs.
We applaud the City Manager in his selection of Lynn and we look forward to a bright future for the Parks Department under her leadership.
