If you were wondering why your commute through Downtown Kirkland was particularly slow this morning, it was because city crews were working at daybreak to remove a tree stump from the sidewalk on Lake Street across from Starbucks. The sidewalks in downtown Kirkland have been identified as less than passable for many and the city is responding by making repairs like this.
Kudos to the City of Kirkland.
If the construction hindered your morning commute, rest assured that you always have an alternative route on I-405.
Oh wait. I guess the state already "fixed" that route and that's why you now drive through downtown Kirkland.
