Local talent: Pink Floyd on Saturday at KPC

Rock Orchestra (SRO) was born out of the desire to marry the unabashed performance energy of rock 'n 'roll with the broader palette of musical nuances treasured in classical music.  Founded by bassist & composer Scott Teske, SRO is a 50+ piece orchestra with strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, choir and a rotating cast of guest vocalists.

On Saturday, SRO will pay tribute to rock pioneers Pink Floyd with orchestral arrangements of their bestselling double-album The Wall, including a complete performance of The Dark Side of the Moon and several of their orchestral and instrumental suites.  Featuring the songs 'Money,' Comfortably Numb,' 'Another Brick In The Wall,' 'Fearless' and many more.

Kirkland resident LWSD Band Coordinator Mike Lundquist, and Principal Trumpet for SRO will play Saturday at the Kirkland Performance Center show.  "I'm excited to perform for the people of this great community, of which I have been a part for the last 8 years."  Lundquist, who also serves as Band Director for Kirkland Middle School, has taught hundreds of children in the Kirkland area to play instruments.
