Kirkland Oktoberfest Opens Today with Tapping of the Firkin, Homebrew Competition Sat, Wiener Dog Races Sunday

The Seattle Area's Largest Authentic Oktoberfest Tradition Opens This Weekend

A weekend full of Oompah pah and pretzels and sausages (and hairy legs in Lederhosen) is ahead for Kirkland as the 3rd Annual Kirkland Oktoberfest opens Friday at 4pm. Mayor Amy Walen will officially "open" the festival with the traditional Tapping of the Firkin Friday at 7pm in the Festhalle (a giant 140 ft tent with long tables, benches and swaying arm-in-arm).

The festival entertainment schedule is packed (download here) with incredible performances all weekend long. Wiener Dog Races (Sunday at 1pm) are a crowd favorite for families in the Willkommen Platz where there will be a Root Beer Garten, merchants and food trucks Saturday and Sunday (admission free). The Biergarten is 21+ and ticketed.

Watch the football games at Oktoberfest! Big screen TVs will be playing the Husky and Seahawks games so cheer on our teams in style with your pals in the Biergarten!

Kirkland Oktoberfest Hours:
