Kirkland Prop 1 to build the ARC Fails, Kloba, Asher, Nixon Re-Elected, Hague Bested by Balducci

After a spirited campaign season, voters rejected the hot button item on the ballot, Proposition 1 to Build the ARC by a margin of YES: 35%, NO: 65%. Voters re-elected the three sitting Kirkland City Councilmembers, Dave Asher with 67% of the vote, Shelley Kloba with 63% of the vote and Toby Nixon ran unopposed and was re-elected with 98% of the vote.

Longtime King County Councilmember Jane Hague (41%) lost her seat to challenger and Bellevue Mayor, Claudia Balducci (59%).

Election night margins are not final as votes are still being counted, but the local races are not likely to change. King County will certify the election results on November 24.
