Truck hits old railroad bridge on Kirkland Way, gets stuck

On Wednesday afternoon at about 2 p.m., a Kenworth dump truck driver apparently misjudged the hight of the old railway bridge while driving north on Kirkland Way. The truck got wedged under the bridge, requiring traffic to be rerouted. When we arrived, one police officer was on the scene and the truck driver was letting air out of his tires in an effort to release the truck from the bridge which stands at 11'6".

How do we know the bridge height is 11'6"? Because there is a sign reading "Low Clearance 11'6" directly above the accident.

Thank you to David Bander for the heads up.
