Almost 60 Day of Caring volunteers worked for hours last Friday to prepare Jasper’s Dog Park for the upcoming wetter weather. Volunteers pulled up and trimmed back blackberries and other vegetation, cleaned signs, and moved wood chip ground cover onto bare spots on an overcast day last Friday at the park.
KDOG and City of Kirkland have teamed up with United Way since the park’s creation in 2012, and this is the third day-long work party at the park. “Organizing and operating this event is a critical part of KDOG’s commitment to maintaining Jasper’s Dog Park” said Joy Aurand, incoming President of KDOG.
KDOG and the City of Kirkland are grateful for donations towards the Day of Caring event: Rafn Construction for the donated port-a-potty, our neighbors at Fred Meyer for a donation toward food and water and SODA (operators of the Grandview and Marymoor dog parks) for the loan of tools and wheelbarrows.
