Hit & Run Suspect Taken Into Custody

On June 23st 2014 and just before 2:00 pm, Kirkland Police Department Patrol Units responded to a report of a traffic collision in the 11200 block of Slater Ave.where the suspect vehicle struck an unoccupied parked vehicle.All occupants of the suspect vehicle walked away from the scene. They included the male driver, female passenger and two young children. The female and children were located a short distance away and were not injured. The male was identified by the passenger and witnesses as a 29 year old male. The male fled on foot. A perimeter and K-9 track was initiated. The suspect continued to flee over a prolonged distance and time. Guardian 1 also responded to assist. The suspect was located in the City limits of Redmond in the 13600 block of NE 94th St. in a heavily wooded area. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the City of Kirkland Jail. He was arrested for Hit & Run of an unattended vehicle, driving while license suspended, obstruction, and several counts of criminal trespass in the second degree.
