Construction Work on Cross Kirkland Corridor Shakes Houses

A reader has emailed us asking, "So what in the world is in being built at the intersection of 111th at the trail?" We snapped the above photo of a crane rising above the tree line along the Cross Kirkland Corridor just northeast of Crestwoods Park.

For the past week we in the highlands thought we were having mini quakes until we found a crane and steel drivers pound a wall of steel I beams into the ground. Who is doing this and why?

This portion of the trail along the corridor forms the boundary between the Highlands and Norkirk neighborhoods. Is a retaining wall being built? We have not seen it up close so we just don't know.

If anyone has information on what is happening here or if you have better photos, please share.
