And the walls come tumbling down... at Crab Cracker

This was the view of the demolition taking place at the former Crab Cracker restaurant in downtown Kirkland. The  property is being redeveloped into apartments which have been described as "artist studios" (some say dorm rooms) which have shared communal living areas and shared parking stalls where two units share one long parking space. This new urban style of development is a first in Kirkland and will produce more density, with the benefit of lower prices.

The Crab Cracker plans to reopen across the street at Kirkland Parkplace.
