Helen Keller Elementary Walk and Bike to School Day is Thursday

Helen Keller Elementary School's Walk and Bike to School Day is this Thursday 10/09.  It begins at 8:25AM and will feature  police, fire and PUD utility vehicles in addition to Principal Sandra Dennehy in costume as Ped Bee. ("Bee Healthy, Bee Safe!" City of Kirkland Pedestrian Bee Mascot)  Neon safety vests have been donated by Northshore Utility Department and two NUD reps will be onsite to help give them out. This is the first time in several years our school has held a Walk/Bike Day.

A parent/student pair (April Johnson-Shults and 3rd grade son Devan Shults) represented Keller at the City Council Meeting Tuesday evening and were part of a group of 7 schools that officially received Mayor Amy Walen's "WALK YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL WEEK PROCLAMATION" (http://www.kirklandwa.gov/Assets/City+Council/Council+Packets/100714/5a_HonorsProclamations.pdf)
