West Coast Signal worker Jorge Rivera installs a rapid flashing beacon panel Jan. 27 at the Northeast 70th Street crosswalk near South Rose Hill Park. Rivera said he and his fellow worker, Steve Reed, will complete the installation today, but won’t be fully operational until next week. The rapid flashing beacons at South Rose Hill Park are one of nine levy-funded systems that construction crews are installing throughout Kirkland this week. All nine systems should be operational by mid-February. “So far, so good,” said Josh Prokop, superintendent of FORMA Construction, the contractor responsible for installation.
“Everyone is pleased with the product. That’s for sure.”
