On Monday, Seattle P-I owner The Hearst Corp. announced that while it would end the print edition of the paper on Tuesday, going forward, the company would maintain SeattlePI.com.

This is the first time that a major metropolitan daily has attempted the switch from print to digital only. The SeattlePI.com site will have an editorial staff of 20, down from more than 150 for the print edition. An additional 20 people are being hired to sell advertising.
