Construction crews working on the I-405 – Bellevue to Lynnwood Widening and Express Toll Lanes Project will begin removing trees and shrubs as early as Monday, April 29 on the east and west sides of I-405 between NE 128th Street and NE 160th Street in north Kirkland. Tree removal is needed to build one additional lane in each direction of I-405 for a dual express toll lane system from downtown Bellevue to Bothell. Crews expect tree and shrub removal to take approximately two weeks to complete. See attached flyer for an updated map of additional trees (in orange) added to the original tree removal sites.
Crews will reuse or recycle trees removed within the project area, and will replant new trees and shrubs where possible before the project is complete in 2015.
Crews will keep noise to a minimum by completing the noisiest work during daytime hours (7 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Crews will haul the majority of vegetation away at night.
Neighbors can expect daytime and nighttime noise from equipment used to cut down and dig up trees and shrubs.
