Hopelink Turkey Trot Kirkland Events Photos

The fog lifted from the lake just in time for the start of Hopelink’s 8th Annual Turkey Trot in downtown Kirkland. Young, old, runners, walkers, strollers and LOTS of dogs all gathered at Marina Park to make the 3 mile (5k) round trip to Carillon Point.
Refreshments and live music were on hand as participants gathered under the pavilion at Marina Park. The Mayor gave a brief speech, thanked the participants and then the runners were off. Those of us who chose to stroll rather than run had the opportunity to chat with our neighbors along the way. We made crossed the finish line in just under an hour. More so than many other runs in town, the Turkey Trot is truly a family event.
Rick Takagi has posted his photos on the KirklandViews.com Photo Gallery.

Hi Debra,
Thanks for your kind words.
The Turkey Trot was a blast and for such good cause. It was inspiring to see so many people out to support Hopelink both on Sunday at the Trot and also on Saturday at the food drive (See: http://www.kirklandviews.com/2008/11/06/kirkland-community-rallies-for-food-drive/).
You are right, the photos are fantastic and they were taken by Rick Takagi. Rick is doing a wonderful job photographing events for us and posting them at the Kirkland Views Photo Gallery (http://www.ricktakagi.zenfolio.com/f458544724/). You may have seen Rick’s photos in 425, Seattle magazine, The Seattle Weekly or Parade. We are very pleased to have such a talented fellow Kirklander join us in spreading the word about the many community events we have in Kirkland.
Thanks for your comments.
