Christmas Fair and World Gift Market November 15th
UPDATE: Event Photos have been added to this article
This weekend Kirkland will be hosting two very special Christmas fairs that you should know about because they are a great way to do some holiday shopping that will benefit more than one recipient.
This Saturday, November 15th, St. John’s Episcopal Church (105 State St. S.) will host the KIN Holiday Fair (Kirkland Interfaith Network) from 10AM-4PM. The KIN Fair is a chance to do some holiday shopping that can really make a difference—buy a toilet or box of nails for a Habitat house, a pig for a village or locally and globally made treats or crafts. As the host church, St. John’s can choose to highlight a particular charity or organization—this year they have chosen Habitat for Humanity and Episcopal Relief & Development/Nets for Life.
Also on Saturday from 12 p.m.- 7 p.m., just up the road the Kirkland Church of the Nazarene (232 5th Ave. S.) will host their World Market, a craft fair featuring fairly traded globally made crafts.
Both events also feature live musical performances. The churches are conveniently located just a couple blocks apart along State Street in Kirkland and both have ample parking. As an alternative, you could opt to park at the Kirkland Library or Park Place and walk. St. John’s is about ½ block south of the Kirkland Library.
Some of the organizations that will benefit from the fair are:
- Heifer International
- Church World Service
- Habitat for Humanity
- Sibling House
- Ten Thousand Villages
- Children’s Hospital
- Youth Eastside Services
- Eastside Baby Corner
- Bridge Ministries
- Friends of Youth
- EFM Card Project for Iraqi Children
- Hopelink
- SHARE/WHEEL (Tent City)
- Church of Mary Magdalene
- Nonviolent Peaceforce
- YWCA Eastside Women’s Center
- Episcopal Relief & Development
- Kirkland Interfaith Transitions in Housing (KITH)
