On Tuesday, commuters through Kirkland spotted a cast of characters supporting local events, dressed in costumes and handing out flyers asking folks to support our many events in town. As a part of the Kirkland Downtown Association’s Give A Little, Get A Lot campaign, a group of volunteers manned the streets of downtown during both the morning and afternoon commutes, asking for donations. Events in Kirkland are largely supported by volunteers and the community through donations. Some of the favorite events listed are the Fourth of July Fireworks and Parade, The Classic Car Show, Kirkland SummerFest, the Summer Concerts Series and Shakespeare in the Park.

If you enjoy the events we have in town, please consider making a tax-deductible charitable donation to fund local events by clicking on the “donate” button at: http://www.kirklanddowntown.org/

Thank you for your support!

why do you need donations for the farmer’ market?  I thought a fee was charged to each vendor to participate?  maybe a solid  financial plan needs to be in place so the fees collected will pay for all expenses?

While I am not a member of the KDA or the Wednesday market, I am familiar with both so perhaps I can add some clarification to this question.
The Kirkland Wednesday Farmer’s Market is just one of the many events under the umbrella of the KDA. The market makes money and therefore helps support the other events including the beautification of downtown.
      Thank you for your comments.

You’re right, I do see the market on the list of possible donation recipients… so I guess this much favored weekly event has lots of fans who will unwittingly donate to the KDA pool when they check that box.
