Alexandra Tsirkel in Concert at St John’s Episcopal Church in Downtown Kirkland, April 29

A young woman from Siberia playing Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue? Yes!

Alexandra Tsirkel or Sasha was born in Omsk, Russia and studied at the Novosibirsk State Conservatoire and the University of Washington. She will entertain at  St John’s on April 29th, 4pm. The concert will include performances from Gershwin, Bach-Busoni, Chopin, and Debussy.

Sasha has been a regular accompanist for opera theater productions in the Pacific Northwest.  In 2009, Diane Althaus began a collaboration with Joy Shepard Baldridge, mezzo soprano, and Sasha as pianist. They performed a series of five concerts in the Northwest, one of which was at St. John’s in April 2010.  Sasha also played for the Women of the World (WOW) dinner party in January 2011. She also accompanied Joy Baldridge in a Feichter series concert in October 2011.

Sasha plays Bach with Germanic intensity and Debussy with French nuance. Please come and relish the beauty of Sasha’s music on April 29th at 4pm.
