The following volunteer opportunities are available through the City of Kirkland:
I'M NOT A VICTIM--I JUST PLAY ONE AS A VOLUNTEER! Volunteers with a flare for the dramatic are needed to assist with an emergency management training class on March 4th at the Peter Kirk Community Center from 7:30 to noon. Each "victim" will choose a role and have professional make-up applied to mimic "severed" limbs and fake wounds. Food and beverages provided. Age 16 and older.
JUANITA FRIDAY MARKET INTERN Gain great work experience in recreation or event planning! Assist with planning, coordinating and implementing a weekly farmers market. Coordinate with community members, schedule entertainment, recruite volunteers. Volunteer must be available Friday afternoons May through September as well as one additional weekday April through September. Background check required. Age 18 and older.
HELP REDUCE CLUTTER IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD Volunteers are needed to assist with sign removal in all Kirkland neighborhoods. Hate to see those pesky sales signs blocking your sidewalk? Help the City by driving key routes on weekends to locate and deal with signs according to City procedure. Vehicle, license, and insurance required, along with a background check. Age 18 and older.
