Kirkland Police Arrest Driver in Early Morning Fatality Collision

Police seek witness information of collision

 

The Kirkland Police Department has arrested the driver who struck and killed a bicyclist this morning, December 8, 2011 at the intersection of NE 124th Street and 132nd Avenue NE.  The collision occurred at before 3 a.m. and involved a large SUV striking the 36 year old victim who was riding home from work on his bicycle.  The driver of the SUV, 27 year old Redmond resident Nathan J Godwin, was booked into King County Jail this afternoon for Vehicular Homicide.  The Kirkland Police Department Traffic Investigation Unit and Detective Unit are continuing their investigation of this collision.  If anyone has any information regarding this collision, please contact Sergeant Brouelette, Kirkland Police Department at 425-587-3493 or lbrouelett@kirklandwa.gov.  For further press information, contact Lieutenant Mike Murray by phone at 425-587-3402 or email at mmurray@kirklandwa.gov
