The Friday Night String Bean event is promoted by Kirkland’s Cultural Council in an effort to increase the quality and quantity of live music in Kirkland. Starbucks, Tully's, St. James, Rococo and more will be featuring live music on Friday, December 9 from 7 until 9pm. The music is free and donations for the artists are appreciated.
Great local musicians like Ryan Laughlin, who will be playing at Tully's Coffee and Katie Hoag, will be playing at Starbucks, will make this a wonderful free event. Not to mention, the Martureo Vocal Ensemble from First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue, directed by Don Prior will grace music-goers with charming holiday carols. There are many efforts being taken by the Cultural Council and other private groups to develop more live music options for Kirkland residents, so hopefully Friday Night String Bean will be both a reoccurring event and a catalyst for more performances to come.
