The public hearings will be held in Council Chambers at City Hall.
The hearings will be open to the public. Anyone may speak or submit written comments at the hearings. You may submit written comments prior to the hearings by letter or email to Kirkland City of Kirkland Senior Planner, Angela Ruggeri at aruggeri@ci.kirkland.wa.us
The City of Kirkland Notice of Hearings is available for download here.
Touchstone, the applicant for the Kirkland Parkplace PAR has sent the following email (including the above graphic) to supporters urging them to express their opinions to the Planning Commission by email and by attending the Public Hearing:
Thank you for showing your support for Touchstone’s Mixed-Use Redevelopment Plan for Kirkland Parkplace by signing the petition at the project Web site, www.envisionkirklandparkplace.com.
As we move into the final days of the City’s comprehensive review of the proposed plan, every bit of support from local stakeholders like you is critically important to the successful approval of Touchstone’s Private Amendment Request.
To that end, we hope you will plan to attend the Planning Commission meeting on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 6 p.m., at City Hall. There, you’ll have the opportunity to speak publically about why you believe a redeveloped Kirkland Parkplace will provide a host of economic and community benefits to Kirkland. And, if you can bring along a few friends to voice their opinions, I’m sure the Planning Commission would be pleased to hear their thoughts, too. The City will be basing its decision, in part, on the number of supporters who attend and speak at these public meetings.
If you need additional information, or would like to talk about some of the positive impacts of the plan, please don’t hesitate to contact me, A-P Hurd, at 206-357-2304 or aphurd@touchstonecorp.com.
In the meantime, you’ll find information below on the project, and how to contact the City via email with your thoughts on the proposed Mixed-Use Plan. Thanks again for all your support and participation.
Kirkland Citizens for Responsible Development (CRD), the Parkplace opposition group, has also urged their supporters to attend this upcoming hearing at www.kirklandcrd.org/content/attend-planning-commission-hearing-regarding-parkplace-thursday-october-23rd-city-hall-chamb. As of this writing we have not been notified of any other communications attempts by the CRD.
