Norkirk and Highlands Neighborhood Picnic (photos)

On Saturday, the Norkirk and Highlands neighborhoods joined forces to produce a spectacular annual picnic at Crestwoods Park. This good old-fashioned, fun family event had hotdogs, carnival games, arts and crafts and Deano The Clown to entertain the kids. The Uptown Lowdown Jazz Band provided wonderful musical entertainment for the adults as kids played on the fields in games of tug of war and skills and agility games.

Thank you to all of the volunteers and sponsors who worked so hard to make this a fun event.

Rob, thank you so much for taking and posting photos! Jeff Heinz was there as well, and I hope that he will post some photos too. It was a fantastic event! Thank you especially to Virginia Woods and Ed Irwin, whose energy and vision were the driving force behind the event, and to the many businesses who participated – the picnic could not have happened without them.
