I was out walking the dog when I saw the fire trucks a bit further East on 112th. Did not see what had happened but to me it is incomprehensible that someone actually can hit a pedestrian – or worse two – in this area. We have speed bumps outside AG Bell (not enough but at least we have two), speed signs, electronic speed signs, school signs, and stop signs. I am probably speculating, but it smells fishy; Driver must either had been speeding, or just not paying attention (chatting on the phone?) or both, cause in my world pedestrians, especially on a cross walk in a quiet neighborhood, always have the right out of way and they do deserve the attention of the drivers passing them by.

This might be a bit of foul language, but it really pisses me off when people are speeding down the streets in our “hood”. More than once have I flipped someone off when they've been flying by. Speed limit is 25 and by speeding, you really do not gain more than maybe a few seconds before your next stop sign/light. I sometimes hope that these people do not speed in their own neighborhoods, but the sad fact is that it seems most people that actually do fly by, also live in the same neighborhood.

Maybe this accident gets people to think twice before rushing down a neighborhood street.

Now just lets hope that the woman and child are OK.

This happened yesterday. Is it that hard to get a bit more information? Exactly where it happened, was the driver charged, any word on the condition of the victims?

I agree completely with bigyaz. As a member of the neighborhood where the accident occurred, I had really hoped to learn a few more basic details. Kirkland News really let me down on this.
