Hello Ann,
I would like to share some context wih you regarding this subject. I understand your feeling that the contributions Chuck Morgan made to the City of Kirkland merit a significant tribute and perhaps someday someone (maybe you?) will start a movement to dedicate a park or a street to his memory as you suggest. However, at this time, the City is not insulting anyone by dedicating a park bench. On the contrary, friends of Chuck Morgan have collected private donations for this cause - dedicating a park bench in honor of a friend who has past. This is somewhat of a tradition in Kirkland, and you will notice that many of our parks have such tributes.
I applaud those who have worked to dedicate this park bench to their friend, and I encourage you to promote another tribute if you so desire.
Thank you for your comments.

A bench? You're kidding! Mr. Kirkland gets a freakin bench???

Chuck Morgan deserves to have an entire park named after him. Or a street.

A bench. That's an insult to this man who did so much for Kirkland.
