Description:  Much more than a concert, In The Mood presents a 1940′s musical with singers, dancers and the sensational String of Pearls Big Band Orchestra. Featuring the music of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, Harry James, Erskin Hawkins, The Andrews Sisters, Frank Sinatra, and more, this combination of up-tempo big band instrumentals and intimate, romantic ballads harkens back to a time when music moved the nation’s spirit!

This year, Sister returns to KPC just in time for Valentine’s Day to discuss the sacrament of marriage. Description: The exuberant rhythms of Africa, the deep emotion of the blues and the ancient spirit of the native Caribbean peoples echo in the music of Umalali. Part of the Garifuna tribe, the women of Umalali have united to craft contemporary songs of indescribable soul, strength and beauty.
Blending the rich vocal textures of rock, blues, funk, African, Latin and Caribbean music, Umalali tells the story of women whose strength, hard work and perseverance provide the bedrock of their community.

Description:      For more than 30 years Kronos Quartet has expanded the range and context of the string quartet. They have covered a broad range of musical genres (folk, experimental, pre-classical early music, movie soundtracks, jazz, tango and more) and collaborated with everyone from Philip Glass to David Bowie. At KPC, Kronos will perform works selected and arranged exclusively for our audience, creating an intimate evening with one of the most celebrated and influential string quartets of all time.

Description:      Create a 3-D collage in this workshop. Use a variety of materials to actualize a project inspired by Joseph Cornell and your own personal world. Choose from a vast selection of mixed media supplies to make your very own wall-hung shadow box. Bring in your own materials, ideas, and objects for your project. Instruction on use of adhesives and 3-D assemblage will be covered. No experience necessary.

Description: Explore creative forms of self-expression while experiencing the flowing techniques of sumi painting for students of all levels. Sumi (black ink) will be the primary medium used, with opportunity to work in color. Traditional tools, materials, brush methods, and approaches will be
used. Students will apply their own creative interpretations of subject matter while learning to simplify visual elements with minimal brush strokes.
