Today The Seattle Times announced an expansion of its local news partnership program with the addition of two Eastside hyperlocal news blogs – Kirkland Views and the Redmond Neighborhood Blog.
“We’re thrilled to welcome these new partners to our network of quality sources for neighborhood and specialized news,” said David Boardman, executive editor of The Times and Seattletimes.com. “Together, we can offer this region depth and breadth of coverage that none of us could provide alone.”
In August, The Times launched a Networked Journalism project with several Seattle-based blogs including West Seattle Blog, My Ballard and Central District News. Today the project expanded by adding these additional partners:
- Aurora | Seattle and editor Ben Katt
- Beacon Hill Blog and editors Wendi Dunlap and Jason Simpson
- Eastlake Ave. Blog and editor Curt Milton
- Kirkland Views and editor Rob Butcher
- MLTnews.com and editor Dustin DeKoekkoek
- Redmond Neighborhood Blog and editor Bob Yoder
Last May, Kirkland Views entered into a pilot program with The Seattle Times and today we are pleased to be named as a local news partner.
