A Kirkland Police Officer was involved in a motor vehicle accident shortly after 9:00 pm on December 15, while responding to a domestic violence call. The officer was driving north on 124th Avenue NE in the 12000 block when a southbound vehicle suddenly turned left in front of the officer’s marked patrol vehicle. The officer swerved right to avoid hitting the vehicle and went through a yard striking a house. The officer suffered minor bumps and was transported to the hospital for precautionary reasons. The officer had a citizen with him in the vehicle as part of a ride along program who also received minor injuries. One person was in the house at the time of the accident and was not injured.
