There was some talk of this becoming an event space. Has anyone heard of any progress?

Agree, this is such a PRIME location, and one of not too many restaurants on the Eastside that offer outstanding views over lake, marina, sunset, etc (Anthony's, Carillon Point are the only ones that comes to mind).

If rents for this space are in line with "what a restaurant business can carry", I have a hard time understanding why a dining outfit not would be able to be very successful here.

The current ownership has failed to produce a quality dining experience. The economy may have made it worse, but the root cause is average food and poor service.

We'll be sad to see the Fish Cafe go- my husband and I had our rehearsal dinner there the night before we got married 15 years ago. It was always our go to special occasion place.

Definitely too bad. I've had some great meals at the Fish Cafe, and the view is incredible. That said, the last couple of times I was there, the place was empty, the service was mediocre and the food didn't really seem as good as it used to be. It's possible I just had bad luck, but if my recent experiences were typical of their current performance, I'm not surprised they've been having a hard time competing...
