Over the past week, scores of volunteer elves have toiled long and hard to hang wreaths, bows, garland and lights in preparation for the Annual Tree Lighting Festival on Saturday, November 28th from 4-8pm. From the KDA website:

Each year, thousands of people come DOWN to hear festive music, enjoy the decorations and witness our beautiful 30 foot tree lighting. Bring your family and friends down to enjoy this event. This year we have numerous activities such as a Kirkland Choral Society performing along with other local choirs and bands. Gingerbread House Display at Merrill Gardens, Horse Drawn Carriage Rides, Story Telling of the book “Twas the night before Christmas” read by Ms. Teen Washington, Photos with Santa by Human Nature Photography and much more! The tree will be light at 6PM on Kirkland Avenue next to the Marina.

Hopelink is the official charity for the Tree Lighting with a Food & Toy Drive for needy families. All donations, large and small, will put some cheer into the holidays for a child who may otherwise not have received any gift at all. PSE is partnering with Hopelink during this event for 10% the Energy, Twice the Holiday Spirit campaign, by handing out FREE LED lights for a donation of 10 pounds of Food or a $10.00 donation to Hopelink.

Special thanks to Roof Truss Supply, George’s, The Slip and Starbucks on Lake Street for contributing to the effort.
