Kirkland – The Heathman Hotel, Restaurant and Spa-Kirkland, the only independent, luxury hotel located in the city’s vibrant downtown core, joins the ranks of the nation’s premier properties by garnering the AAA Four Diamond Award®. An indicator of excellence since 1977, the AAA Four Diamond Award promises travelers an unparalleled lodging experience.
“We are thrilled to receive this honor from AAA, and the timing is impeccable as we mark the first anniversary of the Heathman Hotel in Kirkland’s unveiling,” said Les Utley, general manager. “To have achieved one of the Association’s highest rankings in our first year of operation is a true testament to the original vision for the property as well as to the ongoing commitment of our staff to pamper each guest.”
Opened in October 2007, the Heathman Hotel in Kirkland was one of more than 60,000 lodgings and restaurants throughout North America evaluated by AAA professional inspectors. Less than four percent of evaluated properties met the rigorous standards to earn an AAA Four Diamond Award.
“AAA Four Diamond lodgings – such as the Heathman Hotel in Kirkland – are part of an elite group that continues to set the standard for personal service, first-class amenities and exquisite surroundings,” said Steve Pomranz, AAA’s Travel Services vice president. “The care that the Heathman Hotel’s staff takes ensures that their guests will have an experience they will never forget.”
About AAA and the Diamond Rating SystemAAA’s Diamond Rating System is the only rating system that covers all of North America and one of only two that include physical, on-site evaluations. It is the only system that uses full-time, professionally trained evaluators to inspect each property on an annual basis using a set of guidelines that are made available to all establishments. AAA rates more properties than any other rating entity.
As North America’s largest motoring and leisure travel organization, AAA provides nearly 51 million members with travel, insurance, financial and automotive-related services. Since its founding in 1902, the not-for-profit, fully tax-paying AAA has been a leader and advocate for the safety and security of all travelers. AAA can be visited on the Internet at www.AAA.com.

The Pantera Spa treatments are scrumptious. I would very highly recommend them. Trellis has a great chef but hit or miss staff. The rooms I haven’t seen yet. The Hearhman in Portland has been an institution for years so I think they run good hotels. Brunch at the Heathman is a treat.

I have been to Penterra Spa twice and both sessions were pleasant and relaxing. The spa area is entirely separate from the lobby which is a benefit. My friends have stayed in the rooms and they report that they were treated like kings. 4 stars from me.
