Today, we have so many bicyclists that think its fine to wind through stopped traffic, bumping cars and scowling at people in Escalades that the city painted a bike lane to give them legitimacy.

Too bad few of the streets are wide enough for a bikelane to be added.

This last week I received a stern look from a bicyclist because I was parked properly in a parking space. He then stopped and told me I parked IN the bike lane. I told him I was fully within the parking space and he pointed to the white lane delimiter for the bike lane… fully 12″ INTO the car parking space.

Well, let me tell you something clown, you might change your attitude. Silly Lycra shorts don’t give you any additional rights. Cars have right-of-way by tonnage. We all need to obey the same traffic laws and that includes NOT weaving in and around in slow traffic.

Here’s another hint. When you piss off enough people the general mindset will start to become ‘Aim for bicyclists’ rather than ‘Watch for bicyclists’
