Puddle Jumpers
Bronze by Glenna Goodacre
Location: 25 Lakeshore Plaza Drive (Marina Park). Purchased by Kirkland citizens, 2001.
This photo of “Puddle Jumpers” was sent in and described as, “heated with a blow torch to increase absorption of the bronze so it will better absorb the wax which is applied next. The statues are then buffed and they look as good as new for another year.”

Thank you for this photo. It reminds people that despite all of the current fussing and negativity there is a lot that is good about Downtown Kirkland. Sorry if this is a little off topic, but I just wanted to thank the Kirkland Performance Center for hosting their wonderful free 10th anniversary celebration yesterday. This is what makes Kirkland so great - all of the arts and culture and the willingness of the community to work to make it accessible for everyone. In the midst of all the current dissention it is just something to keep in mind - why we do love Kirkland - so thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make that a nice event yesterday. Kudos
